1) Is CPCC affiliated with a particular denomination? Cypress Point Community Church is a non-denominational Christian church. We are not affiliated with any particular denomination. 2) What are the church's core beliefs? Our beliefs focus on God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Bible. To see details on our beliefs click HERE. 3) What time does church begin and where are services held? Our Sunday morning services begin at 10:00am. We meet in our new building at 15820 Morris Bridge Road, just north of the Morris Bridge Road and Cross Creek Blvd intersection. Directions can be found HERE. 4) Should I dress up for church? Our services are casual. Please feel free to dress comfortable. You will not be judged regardless of what you wear. It's ok to wear shorts to church! 5) How long do Sunday services typically last? Services usually last one hour. After the service we hope you will feel comfortable hanging out in our lobby area for coffee and snacks. 6) Are there memorized lines or responses that I might not know? Absolutely not. We don't recite any type of script week after week. Anytime we do anything as a group (like sing) we display the words on the screen! 7) Do children attend services with their parents? We have separate, age appropriate, experiences for every age child from birth through high school. These groups meet at the same times as our adult services. This way children receive an experience directed at their developmental level while the adults meet separately. 8) What type of music is used in church services? We have an outstanding worship band that performs contemporary Christian music. They rock! 9) What are the children services like? Children and youth meet in age based groups, each with their own age appropriate activities. Our children's church is called Adventure. Adventure includes groups for age 2-5, and kindergarden-5th grade. Both experience a wide range of activities including music, movement and projects where they learn about God and His love in both large and small groups. 10) What are the youth services like? Our middle school and high school youth gather in The Dewlling Place. Here they experience music and activities tailored just for them. While the adult worship band rocks, the youth band really rocks! 11) Is there a nursery for babies? Yes. The nursery is staffed by well trained adults that love babies. In addition to the normal nursery toys and objects the children hear about Jesus and His love for them. We feel that children are never to young to learn about God. 12) Are there opportunities to become actively involved? Most certainly. We feel that just showing up isn't what Jesus taught. We talk of our church in terms of a Battleship opposed to a Cruise Ship. On a cruise ship a few people do all the work while most relax. On a battleship everyone has a role! 13) What are Community Life Groups and what do they do? At CPCC Church isn't a place you go; Church is a gathering of people. To help facilitate community within CPCC we host a number of small groups that meet on varying schedules. We do Community Life Groups because they are fun, they add adventure to our lives, they help us develop friendships, and they help us grow spiritually. No matter your interest you will find a group that you will enjoy. 14) What about mebership in CPCC? Every month we offer our "Steps" classes. Step 1 is our membership class where we discuss the biblical, cultural, practical and personal reasons for church membership. The Step 2 class equips you with the skills you need to be more like Jesus, while the Step 3 class helps you to learn how to develop and use your God-given gifts and abilities to serve God and others in the church family. 15) What is CPCC's history? Cypress Point Community Church began in the home of charter member Loretta Kirkland. It was summer of 1998 and paster Dean Reule, his family, and three or four other families gathered for the first time as CPCC. As membership began to grow church services were moved to the sales center at the entrance to Hunter's Green. When Muvico opened in New Tampa on Bruce B. Downs in 2001 we began holding services in their facilities. Twenty three acres of land was purchased near the corner of Cross Creek and Morris Bridge Road in 2003. Construction began in 2006 on our first building and our first services was held there on Sunday, September 23, 2007. Approximately 350 people presently call Cypress Point home and we continue to grow every week!
